Remember, CBD oils take between 30 to 60 minutes whereas lotions start slower. To determining the best CBD dosage generally depends on the following factors:
- Concentration: Refers to the total amount of CBD in a given product. This is different from dosage, which indicates the amount of CBD per serving. Please refer to our concentration table at the end.
- Bodyweight: Generally speaking, heavier people need higher doses to experience the calming effects of CBD; lighter people, on the other hand, may feel the same effects with a lower dose.
- Desired effects: For many, the optimal dose comes down to the level of pain or discomfort they are experiencing. Someone with chronic pain or severe anxiety may need a higher dose to alleviate their symptoms, whereas a person with a milder condition may prefer a lower dose with less pronounced effects.
- Tolerance: CBD consumers may develop a tolerance over time, which can result in reduced effects from the same dosage. Higher subsequent doses may be needed to achieve the desired results.
In general, you should start with 20 mg or less per day. These are general informal dosages which will be taken up in detail by each condition in the corresponding article. Note, CBD is considered non-toxic and the chemical produces very few side effects which, when they occur, are typically minor and non-threatening.
Anti-inflammation: 2.5 to max 5 mg per kg body weight in total per day, can be split over the day. After 10 days it can be increased to max 10 mg per kg per day
Severe Migraine: 40 to 50 mg per day
Chronic Pain: 2.5 to 20 mg each day for approximately 25 days
- Relaxation: 5 mg per day
